P1 Group is seeking qualified candidates for Electrical Project Manager/Estimator for Joplin, Missouri. Position Requisition# A0000156 FLSA Status: Exempt Summary and Nature of the Work- Project Management • The incumbent of this position manages construction projects or assists senior management on large projects. He or she manages the project’s field staff, subcontractor performance, and vendor compliance. He/she thoroughly understands and complies with contract documents, budgets, and safety, statutory, and legal compliance. Additionally, the incumbent maintains constructive relationships and supportive communications with clients, vendors, subcontractors, inspectors, community officials, P1 Group staff, and his/her immediate supervisor. • The incumbent leads his or her subordinates as defined by P1 Group’s leadership model and its operating principles. • The incumbent directly contributes to the success of the company by effectively and efficiently managing the construction project so that it is completed on time (according to adjusted schedules) and within budget. Summary and Nature of the Work -Estimating • The incumbent of this position supports the Estimating Department’s mission of ‘collaborating with the other pre-construction services and with key partners to deliver timely, accurate estimates that are innovative solutions. • The incumbent analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, construction projects, or services projects. • As directed by the Supervisor, he/she will research, study, and provide information on contract, budget, safety, statutory, and legal compliance issues. • Additionally, the incumbent assists the Supervisor in maintaining constructive relationships and supportive communications with clients, vendors, subcontractors, inspectors, community officials, and the P1 Group staff. • The incumbent directly contributes to the success of the company by effectively and efficiently developing project estimates that reflect P1 Group’s competitiveness, expertise, and ability to provide quality services and construction. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must have the following education, skills and abilities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Education Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS) in a construction related discipline, or five to ten years of related trade experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. • Related Experience: Must have a minimum of 5 years experience, 7 years is preferred, as an Electrical Construction Project Manager and/or Electrical Construction Estimator. Experience in both Project Management AND Estimating is preferred. Significant experience working on large industrial construction projects is preferred. • Location: Knowledge of and experience in the Joplin, Missouri area is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates currently in this general area. Skills • Computer Skills: The incumbent must be proficient in using email, database, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing applications: specifically Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Windows). • Customer Service - manages difficult or emotional customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs; solicits customer feedback to improve service; responds to requests for service and assistance; meets commitments. • Data and Information Management: must be able to collect, organize, sort, store, and retrieve electronic files and paper documents. • Interpersonal Skills - focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; maintains confidentiality; listens to others without interrupting; keeps emotions under control; remains open to others' ideas and tries new things. Language Skills: • Reading and Comprehension: The incumbent must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; to write reports, instructions to employees, and basic business correspondence; and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, internal customers, and vendors. • Oral Communication - speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; participates in meetings. • Written communication - writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; able to read and interpret written information. • Mathematical Skills: The incumbent must be able to use general business and construction/engineering mathematics skills. • Planning/Organizing - prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently. • Problem Solving - identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations. • Reasoning Ability: The incumbent must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, and he/she must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. • Technical Skills - assesses own strengths and weaknesses; pursues training and development opportunities; strives to continuously build knowledge and skills; shares expertise with others. • Time Management: must be able to respond to others’ priorities and adjust his/her workload accordingly; able to prioritize his/her own work when there is no specific guidance from others. • Transportation: must be able to satisfy P1 Group eligibility requirements to operate either a P1 vehicle or a personal vehicle on company business.
